The MDC 47 (UCR) is a military variation rifle with a unique combination of the Classic AK 47 design with modern day attributes. The MDC 47 (UCR) front section uses our American made black nitride barrel and FSB (front sight block). With the addition of the Ultimak picatinny style gas tube it gives the end user the ability to mount the optic in a forward position for faster, easier and more natural targeting while maintaining your full field of view. Multiple target or moving target engagements, with both eyes open, become second nature.
The MDC-47C is built on our own receivers and high quality original military grade parts kits. We use use our American made 4150 CMV black nitrided barrels which provide great accuracy and longevity. The gun is finished in Cerakote which provides excellent corrosion resistance and increased service life.
Each receiver is hand built with attention to detail using CNC machines to insure accuracy. The receiver is fully heat treated in a salt bath to a hardness of 40 HRC. Our receivers have the proper Safe & Fire markings as well as the Selector Notches. Receivers are tumbled for smooth carrier cycling and function smaller, lighter, and easier to carry than the traditional AK rifles

The quality of this rifle is far above any AK I have owned. I've put just over 1k rounds through it. It is a pleasure to shoot. Just finished a rifle course this past weekend, it was the only AK in a class full of AR's. Received a lot of compliments. It's very accurate. I've used irons and a Holosun red dot on the ultimak. Will not be my last Meridian purchase.

Wow............ When I first order the rifles I wondered why I was going to spend that kinda of money for AK's... Once I received the first one I realized it was not a mistake.. Incredible action and prefomance with no issues. I loved it so much I ordered 2 more variants and can not wait till they are finished.. Well worth the price and the wait, you will not be sorry

The rifles is great finish is awesome I can’t complain about the rifle what so ever obviously the only issue we face to have said rifle is the wait although now I see that it is worth it fun shoots fantastic and super happy to be replacing my ar for hunting hogs and coyote with this rifle . I say if you don’t mind waiting 110% get a meridian defense rifle !

I ordered an MDC - 47 in Midnight Black. I was worth the wait and definitely worth the cost. The rifle was ready to shoot right out of the box and it is the most accurate AK I have ever fired. The BD2 - 51t muzzle brake virtually eliminates muzzle climb and the rifle is not over gassed so there is very little recoil. The ALG trigger is a must have feature. The rifle has a forward optic mount and a side rail as well as an enhanced safety lever which is much easier to operate than the standard safety. The quality of this rifle is beyond reproach; top tier work by obviously dedicated people who want to make the very best. Everyone at the range was impressed by the appearance and performance of this rifle when I tried it out. Customer service was excellent. Paul and Marco always responded quickly to any questions I had even while dealing with the pandemic and Paul even called to make me aware of new options with the muzzle brake. If you want a top quality AK and a dedicated company to stand behind it, then this is the AK for you.

Finally, a company that gets it right

Ordered a pair of MDC-47 (UCR)s in Callahan Camo and well worth the wait and cost. Fit and finish is consistent between the two. No sharp edges where the buttstock meets the receiver, front handguards are tight and don’t rattle, very little mag wobble with Bulgarian steel and Bulgarian steel reinforced polymer mags. Polymer buttstock has trapdoor and the sling attachment is on the side of the buttstock, not on the bottom. The welds on the pinned BD3-AK brakes are visible and not painted over, but I’m not bothered by that, just pointing it out. Put 300 rounds through each so far with no malfunctions. Each rifle passed no go gauge before and after the range trip. Recoil-wise, compared to a RD703 with the RD tunable gas block with factory tuning and a Surefire 2 port brake, the RD was slightly softer shooting. I will be interested to compare the recoil to my SAM7Rs, but the UCRs are definitely not over gassed. Customer service with MDC has been great and you can really tell these guys want to get things right and not skimp on quality. I’m very happy to have finally found a high quality AK builder that I can trust. Best experience I’ve had in 2020.
