MDC 47 (VOLK) was created out of a necessity to provide the industry with the ultimate modern weapons platform based off of the battle proven AK47 platform. The foundation of the “Volk” begins with us utilizing an American manufactured Sharps Bros. MB47 milled receiver, which was originally patterned after the original milled Bulgarian AK47 but with the addition of an integrated AR buffer extension. Starting at the rear of the Volk, the system utilizes the Magpul CTR stock. We provide the end user with a positive gripping surface that allows proper one handed control of the Volk through the use of the US PALM AK grip. To provide the end user with a refined fire control group we’ve added the ALG Defense AK-T trigger system. To maximize the accuracy potential of the system, the Volk is built with our US manufactured 4150 CMV black nitride barrel coupled with our modern front sight block that replaces both the original gas block and front sight block. From its inception, the Volk was to be a purpose driven suppressor ready platform in which the barrel utilizes a suppressor ready muzzle device. Through the use of our US manufactured M-LOK hand guard system we are able to provide both a lightweight and strong gas tube that not only allows the tuned gas system to provide the necessary gases for the system to run optimally but also provides the end-user with ability to mount optics in a forward position through its integrated M1913 Picatinny rail.

    I got this as a gift from my girlfriend and its amazing! Fit and finish is on point. Worth the wait! Customer service was awesome they kept me informed of everything that was going on. Will definitely buy again!

    Just order one. Don't hesitate. As someone who owns multiple firearms in this price range, this is probably the best best built. I don't think LWRC builds them this tight, and that's saying something. If you're looking for that dream rifle, this is it. If you can only have one high quality firearm in your arsenal, pick this one.

    I know I was the biggest pain in the ass to Marco. But I would wait another year if I had to, if it meant receiving the same product.

    They pinned and welded the wrong muzzle device, so now I am kind of stuck with it. For as long as it took and as much money spent I would review the order notes to make sure I get it right. MDC: Unfortunately Surefire discontinued that flash hider, so we replaced it with the updated version.

    Took a long time to get. 14 months to be exact. Let me say it is a beautiful gun. 240 rds of crap ammo and it was smooth had almost no recoil flawless operation. Apart from the long wait I am happy with this purchase.

    The finest, smoothest and most accurate AK money can buy. It also looks better in person (even though it looks bad ass in pictures as well). The balance makes the additional weight of the receiver dissappear when shouldered. I 100% recommend this rifle and the guys who build them.

    This Volk is the most accurate AK47 platform I have ever owned or shot. The optional trigger (ALG) is fantastic! It has a smooth pull with a great reset. Amazing quality on the multi-cam cerakote pattern. Well done MDC!!!
